My Top 3 Ideas for Earth2
Earth2 is a very complex and sophisticated game, and there are many new features coming. However, there are many things I feel Earth2 is lacking, so here are my best *doable* ideas for Earth2.
Earth2 markets itself as a game, but in reality there is not a large amount of things that you can do in game. If you haven't put any money into the game, there is essentially nothing you can do. However, what if there was a way for new players to come into a game, while adding a fun and engaging game to play. Introducing: Events. For a limited period, players can play a minigame, like shooting aliens, which gives them “coins” which can be spent on boxes, which can give you anything from jewels to Essence to T3 land. (Coins would not be purchasable to prevent oversending on the game.)
EDIT: As I was writing this article, Earth2 announced they would be having some minigames in E2V1. I am super glad about this news and I hope that the devs can take inspiration from this article.
Idea 2: In-game chat
Earth2 is currently working towards becoming a “Metaverse”. A large part of this concept is player to player conversation, which is currently not supported in Earth2. A simple way to implement this is adding messages. There is currently a largely unused mail section, which I think would be a perfect fit to chats.
Of course, you would have to accept a chat request to chat, to prevent spam and inappropriate messages. You could also add comments to posted content, for example, if you wanted to tell others about an idea you had while reading this article, you could comment on this article, a little like reddit, but in an easy to find location, where all players can find it. There would also be a reporting system to prevent self-advertising.
Idea 3: Property system
This one is by far the most simple, but most needed. All properties have a New Land Value (NLV), which is what you could buy that property for now. They also have a Market Value, but it barely is ever different from the NLV. This value is very misleading, as it doesn't show you what people will actually buy the property for, locking up their money, and possibly never selling it again, unable to play the game. Therefore, you need to add a value that shows an estimate about what people will buy it for. Another problem is that currently the marketplace UI and the marketplace filters are not very good. A way that all people could benefit is by adding filters like “% off Market Value” or a price range filter, improving the game for everyone, developers and players alike.
That’s all for this article. Don’t get me wrong, I love Earth2, and that is why I want it to improve. I sincerely hope that any Earth2 employees reading this article can take some advice from this article. Thank you for reading this article! Hopefully I will be able to chat with you in the comment section soon! ;-)
